The SusCon (Sustainable Construction) Academy provides an exemplar facility for the promotion of excellence in learning, skills and attitudes in construction. It provides a unique opportunity as both a demonstration project for innovative construction methodologies and technologies and as a catalyst for development within the Thames Gateway and specifically the Science Park element of The Bridge site master plan.

  • 2 steel frame workshop areas.
  • Timber frame breakout area with seating and internet hub.
  • Concrete frame teaching blocks with 10 classrooms. Library, kitchen and café.
  • 4 brown roofs.
  • Enviro-block wall, line rendered.
  • PV cells, solar thermal panels.
  • Aluminium timber composite curtain walled windows
  • One side Insulated elevation, timber cassettes with timber classing.
  • Opposite side, Baumit render.

The SusCon Academy has successfully achieved BREEAM Outstanding.
