SuperHomes offshoot WHISCERS picks up Energy Institute award
The winners of the Energy Institute (EI) Awards were announced at a ceremony on 17 November. The Sustainable Energy Academy (spearheading SuperHomes) with partners United House, picked up the Innovation Award for the groundbreaking WHISCERS (Whole House In Situ Carbon and Energy Reduction Solution) system.
WHISCERS is an innovative system for measuring, cutting and installing internal wall insulation. The process is streamlined by the use of a laser to measure the internal spaces followed by the offsite fabrication of insulation panels to the exact size required.
The annual Energy Institute (EI) Awards celebrate energy professionals who have raised the benchmarks of competence and dedication to their work.
This is the second award for innovation that SuperHomes and the WHISCERS partnership has won this Autumn. The partnership also picked up an award at the Sustainable Housing Awards 2011.
