The second edition, which supersedes the first, is equally essential for all landscape professionals in both public and private practice who have any interest or involvement in landscape and visual impact assessment. The Guidelines have been prepared in close liaison with the authors of the Countryside Commission / Scottish Natural Heritage Landscape Character Assessment: Guidelines for England and Scotland, to ensure compatibility of terms and new definitions. This new publication is also an essential reference for landscape baseline in all landscape impact assessment.
