The design, installation, inspection and testing of electrical systems are controlled under Building Regulations Part P – Electrical safety for dwellings in order to help reduce the dangers caused by unsafe domestic electrical installations.
It is hoped that these regulations will reduce any electric shocks and burns incurred as well as reduce the number of fires caused by electrical components shorting out and overheating.
